Genevie only listened with half an ear, although very careful to always be well-mannered, she couldn't help but to be overcome when noticing book titles she'd only heard of - these did not stand to be found in Novingtons royal library... In the last second, she remembered herself and looked up at Finn. "May I?" She finally asked, apparently meaning the books.
She knew she should probably focus on getting to know the prince, considering the plans their parents had for the two youngsters... But this was surely the chance of a lifetime...

"Those are as much mine as they are yours," however improper the comment was, it was Finn's way of saying "Of course!" "I've been skimming them all day. Here, I think you should keep this one," he handed her a leather bound book. It was the Queen's diary, Genevie's great, great, great grandmother, or something relative to that. He felt it belonged to Genevie.

It took her a little while before she figured what exactly it was, not that she cared, it was a book, she'd probably love it whatever it was, but as soon as she did realize what it was and who wrote it, she basically sat down right there and then on the floor, too busy to even notice it was probably quite rude to just ignore him like that, and then started reading at an amazing speed.

Finn sat down with a scroll. It was in a language lost years ago and he was in the process of making a translation. He picked up the lens to examine its text and sat on the wide stone hearth of the fireplace. "I can't make head or tail of this," he mumbled and put it aside, picking up another book. "I was going to sort through it all and organize it. You can have whatever you like." Finn said.

Actually taking the time to look up from the diary, she asked him (apparently instantly comfortable with him at the presence of all these books)"Let me see, what part is it you can't make out?" picking up the book while she talked. Since reading was one of Genevies most loved occupations, it came natural that she'd also taken herself time to learn a wide variety of languages - and not only because it was expected.

"These phrases here," His fingers rolled over them. "I've understood the beginning part, and it seems someone in the castle was detailing exactly what happened on this day. These are all over the place, but the language is so old, I'm certain it's lost."
Finn had understood that someone was detailing the ongoing war. Casualties were counted and things like that, he understood that much, everything else was difficult.

Reading the few phrases, and then the ones before, Genevie wrinkled her forehead in deep thought. "It seems to be some sort of war, I can't specify which from this part..." Figuring he already knew as much, she stopped talking before reading it again. "It isn't going very well for their side it seems, someones death lowering the mens morale... But I can't figure out who died, these words here are completely foreign to me."
