"I'm sorry my lady" Parthias said calmly bowing towards the princess before glaring at the Prince.
"I leave you alone for five minutes and you disappear" Parthias growled looking at the Prince.
"How the hell are you going to keep your head if I can't count it!" He growled.

"Good morning Parthias." She said smiling after letting go of her brother, steering the knights attention and anger away from Melchoir. "How are you today?" Genevie seemed as friendly as ever - some people would probably get annoyed at how friendly and understanding she always was - or seemed to be anyway. "All well I hope?" She continued, grabbing the basket from the guard that still followed them, and then sent him away - after all, they didn't have much need for both guarding them, there must be better things for a royal guard to do with his time.

"I can manage myself!" Melchior said in a fury. "I'd appreciate if you did not reprimand me in public, or I'll see to it that my father sends you packing to Chauveil!" He turned around and looked at the necklace he'd asked for from the jewler.
"Yes, I'll take it." He put fifteen gold coins and three silver ones on the counter. The jewler placed in in an oak box with a latch and handed the purchase to Melchior. "It is always a pleasure to do business with you and your family, your highness." He presented a small bow and watched Melchior exit his shop.

And the second someone else got close, he went back to his rude self. With a small eye roll, she then smiled at Parthias again. "So, how are you?" She felt no need to apologize for Melchior's behavior - partly because, really, he was in his full right to do so, even if Genevie didn't like it - but mostly because the knight knew her brother, and how he could be.

"excuse me for a moment" Parthia's said calmly. He followed the Prince out.
"Hey! Don't go high and mighty on me, Brat" Parthias said "It's my job to be by your side. Now even if I have to tie you down, I'm never leaving your side". To add injury to insult, he tugged on the prince's ear. Hard.
***fifteen minutes ago***
"Gah!" Parthias said as he was pushed against the wall by a man.
"Hey, I think I can forgive a knight for the royals...if you do me a favor pretty girl"A behemoth of a man said
As his temper increased, so did his fist. Right into his face.
"I'm a Man..." Parthias said in a cryptic voice as he stormed away. Not wise to piss off a pretty boy.

Melchior tugged away from him. "I'm not a child! Leave me be!" he swatted childishly at Parthius. "And it's not an escort I need, you're here for my protection. However, the tables seem to have turned and it is you I need to seak protection from," Melchior snapped.
He headed off in the direction of the carriage he'd left earlier to catch up with Genevie. At least Parthius wouldn't have to follow him around there.

An oral rebuke was nothing Genevie cared much about, often she felt her brother deserved it, but having the knight potentially hurting Melchoir drew out somewhat of a "no one hurts my little brother except me"-instinct, and she now had no interest in knowing if Parthia's was feeling. As her brother moved down the street, the princess stopped the considerable taller man with a hand.
"Watch it, knight. Or I'll have you back on courtyard patrol before you can as much as blink." She gave him a harsh glare, a bright contrast to her usual warm manners, and soon moved to catch up with the prince. "It's soon lunchtime, we should head home."

"I thought so too," Melchior remarked, glaring hatefully at Parthias. He gripped the box with the necklace in it to the point that his knuckles flushed white.
He reached the carriage and climbed in, his temper still riding him. He wanted to strike Parthias, hard, but fought the urge to do so. It wouldn't look so good to the public if they say him fighting someone so girlish looking.

Parthias then watched her walk away. Before following her. He growled. The prince, no matter how "precious" he was, was still a brat.

"Calm down Melchoir." She put her hand over his tense hands. "Do you really want to focus on a small racket one of my last days here? Risk is that I'll be gone for quite some time." As always, the corners of her mouths moved into a sisterly smile. She looked down at her own hand resting over his, it seemed to small, so fragile next to his, she remembered when their hands both used to be small, they were really both growing up.

Gradually, his shoulders seemed to sag. He looked her in the eye. "No, I don't," he finally decided. Melchior looked down at their hands and covered hers with his free hand. "Promis me you won't come back reformed," he looked at her with a half-hearted smile. He seriously meant that. "They think they know what's right, and maybe they do, for now, but what happens in a few years when they all come crumbling down?"

She laughed at the request. "I won't, I promise." She said, crossing her heart. "And I don't know, but I would say it's our responsibility to try and make sure it doesn't. And see if we can do something a bit more long lasting on our own lands." She ruffled his hair. "But let's not talk politics, we both get enough of that from home."
